Terms of Service
These terms explain what Expenses Report does, what you can expect from it, and what it is not. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy.
1. Introduction
These terms apply when you use Expenses Report, a personal and shared budgeting service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Who provides Expenses Report
Expenses Report is operated by Expenses Report. The registered legal entity and postal address will be published here once confirmed by the operator. Contact details are in section 23.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to online services, and able to enter into a binding agreement. You may only create an account for yourself.
4. Accounts and account security
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for activity that happens under your account. Use a strong, unique password, or sign in with Google. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
5. Description of the service
Expenses Report lets you record accounts, transactions, categories, budgets and recurring rules, import statements, produce reports and request automated analysis. Features may change, improve or be removed as the product develops.
6. Household functionality
You can invite another person to a household and share selected accounts, categories and transactions with them. Anything you mark as shared becomes visible to household members; transactions marked private are not. You are responsible for deciding what to share and for the fact that a person you invite will see it. Leaving or deleting a household stops future sharing.
7. User data and ownership
You keep ownership of the financial information you enter. You grant Expenses Report only the rights needed to host, store, process, calculate, display, back up and transmit that information so we can provide the features you ask for, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your transactions or financial records, and we do not sell your financial data.
8. AI-powered features
Some features produce written analysis using an AI model. They run only when you ask for them, and they receive aggregated figures for the period you selected rather than your individual transactions. How that data is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.
9. Not financial advice
Expenses Report provides tools for organising finances, budgeting, reporting, calculations, automated insights and AI-generated analysis. All outputs are informational only. Expenses Report is not a financial adviser, investment adviser, accountant, tax adviser or lawyer, and nothing in the service is advice or a recommendation. You remain responsible for your financial decisions and should obtain professional advice where appropriate.
10. AI output may be wrong
Automated and AI-generated output can be incomplete, out of date or simply incorrect. Verify anything important yourself before acting on it, especially before a significant financial decision.
11. Accuracy of financial information
Reports, budgets, projections and scores are calculated from the data in your account. If an entry is missing, duplicated or miscategorised, the results will be wrong. Expenses Report does not connect to your bank and does not verify your figures against any external source.
12. Acceptable use
Do not use the service unlawfully, do not attempt to access other people's data, do not probe, disrupt or overload the service, do not upload malicious content, and do not scrape or resell the service. We may restrict access where this is breached.
13. Intellectual property
The Expenses Report name, interface, design and software belong to the operator and its licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
14. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties for hosting, authentication, email delivery, merchant lookup, AI analysis and — where you allow it — analytics and advertising measurement. They are listed in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for those providers' own services or websites.
15. Service availability
We aim to keep the service available and reliable, but it is provided without a guaranteed uptime level. Maintenance, faults or provider outages may interrupt access. Keep your own copies of data you cannot afford to lose: you can export everything at any time.
16. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access to an account that breaches these terms, that puts other users or the service at risk, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
17. Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account from Settings at any time. This removes your profile and the records that belong only to you. Data belonging to other people is kept; if you own a shared household, ownership passes to another member so their access is not lost. Deletion cannot be undone.
18. Privacy
How your information is stored, shared and deleted is described in the Privacy Policy. Your analytics and advertising choices can be changed at any time through Privacy choices.
19. Payments and subscriptions
Expenses Report is currently free to use. If paid plans are introduced, the price, billing cycle, renewal, refund and cancellation terms will be presented before you subscribe, and these terms will be updated accordingly.
20. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law in your country.
21. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Expenses Report is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for financial decisions made using the service. A specific liability cap has not been set and is pending legal review; until then, liability is limited only to the extent the law allows.
22. Governing law and changes
The governing law and competent courts are pending confirmation by the operator and will be stated here once set; mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply. We may update these terms as the service changes and will update the review date below; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
